In God’s Country
There is something especially appealing about getting a recharge of the batteries in the Spring. The green is a certain shade that you only see this one time of year, and it can be spectacular.


From below Wharton, where the First Fork Sinnemahoning Creek flows through Sinnemahoning State Park and then down to Jericho where it flows into Sinnemahoning Creek…this is easily one of my favorite parts of the state.

I’ve ridden the blacktop from the lake up to the Potter County line countless times. It’s mostly level except for a bit of elevation coming up from the lake.

I’m going to have to recheck the settings on the Lumix FZ 300 because I’ve been a bit disappointed lately at the quality of the pictures when using the long zoom.

I rode the Redline along the shore of the lake as far as I could. I wasn’t up for getting muddy on the last leg down to the dam.

I broke in the new 10′ 3 wt Syndicate fly rod from the folks at LivelyLegz. I realized that what I thought I knew about nymph fishing was all wrong.



The AirBNB along Kettle Creek is certainly a step up from your typical fishing camp.

And when the weather doesn’t cooperate, a porch with some reading material, a beverage and a camera is a nice way to spend some time.
Savor the time you get to spend outside. Sadly, it’s more often than not, in short supply.
